Thursday Thirteen #11

Thirteen Things On My Desk

[This is a sequel to Thirteen Things on my Bulletin Board to prove to you all that I’m really not as organized as you think I am]

1. An empty SOLO plastic cup [for holding small objects so they don’t get lost]
2. Three pennies
3. A torn bank receipt
4. A staple remover
5. The earphones to my MP3 player [but not the MP3 player itself]
6. My biosphere [containing three live brine shrimp]
7. Five packets of flower seeds [they were 5 for $1.00, I couldn’t resist]
8. Half a pack of spearmint gum
9. A crochet basket I made that holds my jump drive and the cable for my digital camera
10. A pottery jar that says VACATION FUND [currently holds $4.00]
11. A sample packet of moisturizer
12. My WIP
13. The miniature Chappa’ai from my broken Stargate SG-1 key chain

I think you made up some of those things so we didn't think you were a neat freak ;)

Is it sad I really want to know what kind of flower seeds? And the thought of live shrimp kinda creeps me out?

Happy Thursday, Jen.

how do you make a crocheted basket - i keep picturing uber floppiness.

I like the idea of the Vacation fund jar. I think I'll start one of those.

You must have a very neat desk to be able to list this stuff. I look at mine and my list would be one item - junk.

2 Forget-me-nots, 2 marigolds, 1 lavendar. ;)

The shrimp are kinda cute - and the best part is, no maintenance.

Rhian, the crochet basket is a little floppy, but I used a cotton yarn which is stiffer so it stands up pretty well.

LOL Grace, I had to sift through papers to FIND the stuff first. Trust me, it's not neat - AND I forgot to list the most prominent item on my desk - DUST.

Four whole bucks, eh? That's gonna be one heckuva vacation! LOL!

LOL - nice. I have, like, 4 undiscarded cans of pop on my desk, half full. Nice. :D

I'm with Grace... I could a TT for a year with the accumulated junk on my desk... great list

All I have in my desk is the computer and all the peripherals (like zip disk, card reader, etc.)

I could use a plastic cup to hold all the little things on my desk. It would really clean it up quite a bit. That and I'd love to get rid of the pile of "stuff" that seems to be growing.

You'd best get to work on that vacation fund! Add those three pennies! :o)

So sad about the key chain :-(

Love it!! Of course, I don't have desk ... I write on a laptop on a lap desk in my recliner ... Talk about decadent! *LOL*

LOL Great list, but your desk still sound pretty clean and organized to me. :)

You have a Stargate keychain!!? Everyday I know you you get cooler. LOL {but I'm serious} :)

I can totally relate. I have a clear path between me and the monitor, but to either side... Watch out! It's dangerous in here! LOL

So how long have you been saving toward that vacation...? :D

Denise Patrick said...

My desk has so much stuff on it, it has branched out to small "personal" tables which are also now filled to overflowing. I'm going to clean it all off when I finish my next set of edits. Really! I really am!

Happy TT!

#1 made me laugh. That sounds organised to me!!

Amending the vacation fund to $4.03 which will buy several post cards, hence making people THINK I've been somewhere far away.

Tempest, you're too neat. You've got to rough it up a bit.

RG, I HAD a Stargate Keychain, now I just have the remains.

Denise, I used to have personal tables too. I like to make piles of things and they do tend to branch out until they're all over the place.

I don't have a desk at home..but my workdesk is pretty organized. AND I have an "EASY" button from Staples....so eener neener neener.

Two Voices Publishing said...

My son has an Easy button - but we had to take the batteries out because it got real annoying after a while. ;) Of course, when you're 9 and Mom cooks and cleans for your, life is pretty darn easy.

Aline de Chevigny said...

OOO where did you get the Chappa eye key chain? I soooo want one LOL
Great List.

Jennifer McKenzie said...

Um, that actually sounds like stuff that BELONGS on a desk. I could totally do this and it would sound really bizarre.

Great list, Jennifer.

I can't have a biosphere. I'd probably cause Armageddon in it.

Two Voices Publishing said...

Where did I get the Chappa'ai? Hmm...my husband brought it home from somewhere, not a Stargate convention, though. I may start hunting for another one. If I find a place that has them, I'll let you know.

I'm too afraid to check what's buried beneath the piles on my desk. Who knows what I might uncover. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss. :-)

Thanks for stopping by. Happy TT.

Shari said...

My 1st TT was actually on a Friday, and I did the same thing. I wonder what other people have on their desks??

Heather said...

Hey, you could buy a gallon of gas with that vacation fund. Won't get you very far, but still! :D

LOL at Shari's comment -- maybe we should do an RD theme sometime and everyone lists items on their desk that week. Could be interesting! Hehe...

#7: We keep thinking of planting seeds, but we can't even keep the potted plants alive for more than a few days. :(

I'd like to see the Stargate keychain too. :)
