Thursday Thirteen #13

Thirteen Jennifers

When I was a kid, I was the only Jennifer in my kindergarten class. I didn’t like my name and I thought nobody else did either. Later in my life it became one of the most popular names for girls and I sort of grew into it. Here’s a list of people I share my name with.

Jennifer Elbaum – rockin’ suspense novelist
Jennifer Leeland – naughty erotic romance novelist
Jennifer St. Giles – romance author
Jennifer Bianco – fellow Diva romantic suspense author
Jennifer MacKenzie – another romantic suspense author – Hmm, I see a trend here
Jennifer Crusie – best selling romance author
Jennifer Garner – actor, former star of ‘Alias’, Mrs. Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez – singer/actor [is it okay to call her an actress or not?]
Jennifer Aniston – actor, former ‘Friend’
Jennifer Katz [formerly Jennifer Colgan, my husband’s cousin]
Jennifer Thompson – sister of my junior high school boyfriend
Jennifer Love Hewitt – actor, currently The Ghost Whisperer
Jennifer Convertibles – furniture store

One of my GFs is Jennifer. She married a guy whose bro married a Jennifer and whose uncle married a Jennifer. There are 3 of them with the same first and last name. And they are a close family. How confusing would that be??

I hate my name and no - I've never grown into liking it.

I always hated my name because it was so damn popular.

My sister just had a baby and named her Isabela -- which is now the fourth most popular girl name. Unfortunately, they spelled it "wrong" with one "L" so the poor child is cursed twice -- no wait, make that three times because they insist on calling her "Izzie" which is cute now, but I imagine it might be annoying by the time she hits thirty.

In 6th grade I knew a Jennifer who was the most popular girl in school. Of course, she was also dating the boy I had a crush on. I like you a lot better. LMAO

I used to hate my name too. But I've grown into it as I've gotten older. Just don't call me Chrissy. *shudder*

Great list!

I know a lot of Jennifers in real life too. It was a popular name in my school. So far I've liked everyone I've ever met named Jennifer! In fact, one of my Jen friends is getting married in two weeks. :-D

Yep, I was the only Jennifer in kindergarten. My mother picked the name for two reasons, one: at the time it wasn't yet one of the most popular names, and two: her mother's name was Jenny. She always made a point though that no one was allowed to call me Jenny. My grandmother apparently didn't like being just 'Jenny' [her actual name was not Jennifer] because she felt it was the poor person's version of Jennifer.

I didn't meet another Jennifer until second grade.

Oh, I forgot another author - speaking of Jenny, there's Jenny Colgan, an English writer for whom I've already been mistaken.
