Only in New Jersey

I saw a snippet of this news story while I was at the office today and I had to look it up on line because I couldn't believe I had heard it correctly, but I had.

Apparently a family in Paterson, NJ had their 1,000 gallon wading pool stolen from their back yard sometime between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM and the thieves didn't spill a drop of water.

Here's a link to the article:http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/07/26/pool.stolen.ap/index.html?imw=Y&iref=mpstoryemail

The ingenuity of the culprits is both impressive and a bit astonishing. As a writer of science fiction and paranormal strories, I can't just dismiss this as the work of a couple [or a group] of enterprising felons looking to sell some blue vinyl on the black market. No, there had to be a really interesting story behind this one. A story that might just end up in one of my books one of these days.

Bwahahahaha!

I think the husband was in on it - maybe he was tired of hearing it was his turn to vacuum?

But I can't wait to see how the thirsty travelers from Zelta Zuuluu were happy to pick up a slurpee-to-go >G<.

LOL, Ember. Logic tells me maybe the parents wanted to get rid of the pool and concocted the theft story so the kids wouldn't be mad at them...but my writer's soul tells me magick or at least alien technology was involved.

Or at the very least it was some college initiation prank...

Damn -- and I thought that stuff like that only happens in Ocean's 11 or something. Purteeeh impressive if you ask me!

Hi Princess! Thanks for stopping by. What's really funny is we've found articles in the paper about it for two days. As if there isn't enough going on in this area of the country to write about, it's captured the newshounds' attention. I wonder if there will be a CSI investigation. LOL.

Hey! I take offense to "only in NJ"!
