The View from My Front Door

For once the hype was not exaggerated. We got over a foot of snow in less than 10 hours and it’s still snowing. Good thing I’ve got plenty to read. Galleys for Wolfsbane, a couple of critiques, some editing of a short story for EC and if I get bored, I can always go out and shovel some more. NOT.

I think it is funny that the worse shoveling I ever had to do was last year here in Nevada, and not Alaska! Last January we had that worse storm in 100 years it accumulated to at least 4 feet in my truck bed. That was the first time I ever had to shovel the back of my truck! It was sloshing around in there as it was wet, so I had to do something about it. I got about a quarter out and gave up, left the tailgate down and slammed on the gas in 4x4 going downhill in reverse, slammed on my brakes at the end of the drive and all the snow flew into the street! LOL. I still have to shovel it.

Yes, that shoveling business is the hard part. Hubby says the snowblower is the best toy he ever bought.

Shoveling is for the birds all right. I'll be a walking pretzel tomorrow. The worst is when you're all done and the plow comes by and makes you a nice new pile to dig out.

Someone used to feel sorry for me in my old neighborhood in Alaska and stop by and offer to help! LOL. I'd say no thanks because that used to be my main form of activity. One winter I lost about 15 pounds -- and I have snow to thank for that. Here it doesn't snow enough to help the figure though.
